Comment: Cant agree more with the service. When I called I received friendly and accurate service. Again, one of my bats was a 1/2 inch shorter than the other and I ordered identical 34" Model 73s(?), whichever one has the flared knob. Our team in WI ordered 4 dozen MaxBats and they were all the same. Some minor differences in weight/balance (every bat feels a little different), but definitely not much difference in pop and absolutely no difference in length or strength. Sounds to me like some others have an "agenda" in mind on this site. I just dont feel like the product compares to the elite companies like XBat, MaxBat, and SamBat for the non-professional player. The value is good, it beats paying 120 for XBats or 140 for SamBats, but MaxBats take the cake for $80. I have no agenda, just being real for people who are looking for a quality bat at a fair price like I am.

Comment: I bought a BWP 34" -Mr Nasty- bats @ Greenies' WPB Tourney last year. It was great! I used the bat for the entire season, w/ it breaking the last weekend before heading to Roy Hobbs in Ft Myers. I hit it off the fists, hmmm strange, couldn't have been tired hands or diving in..... My only problem w/ BWP is finding a local vendor in the Chgoland area to purchase more ! The website shows different vendors, but they seem to only carry 31-32" BWP bats for kids & only the lower end models to boot. This yr I used a bat that was made for me (in FL) by a retired Adirondack/Rawling bat maker. So do I need to fly to PA or FL to get another bat ??? Yes I have backup bats, but they suck & I only use them in the cages.......

Comment: Alex you sound like your full of it.You only take one bat to the field.Right!!!I dont know any real player that doesnt keep a few bats around.Sounds like your pretty confident with your bwp bat to only have one with you.500 Isnt really great for high school. who drafted you see you didnt put that down. Was it the west coast little wiffle ball league. If you knew anything about wood you would know why maple sometimes cracks and bows, ash does the same thing.with furnature you really dry wood down to make it stable but with bats you dry down to 12 - 14 percent which makes them alittle unstable. Now some bat companys dry them way down to get weight and that doesnt happen but you have a weekened bat.Which would you prefer for your wiffle ball.We buy 500 to 800 bats off bwp here with mets minor league and by far are the best bats we get. There are some that break quick but most last.I get alot of at bats out of a bat plus bp.Other brands we get just break so easy,so for my money i buy bwp.As for max bat they make a nice bat,but order 6 dozen and see what you get!Good luck guys keep playing the game even if its wiffle ball!Get him rich!

Comment: Just took time to visit your website. Although many guys have complained about your bats, I thought it might be cool to do business with a bat company from my home state. While looking at your website, I see fuzzy pictures, logos and those same fuzzy pictures laid over text, and can only guess you have the same lack of pride in your product. So rather than defending my home state of PA, I will just jump on the band wagon to Louisville! PJ

Comment: The home run derby, Go back and watch Josh Hamilton's record setting round form 09. His bat was ash. Of course now he swings both but I see him swing more maple then ash these days. What I see though is what wood he swings does not make much difference he still hits bombs.

Comment: The Bwp Bats sponsored travel baseball team participated in one of the most prestigous Travel tournaments in the country this past week. They competed against 56 teams from across the country and competed with class and dignity. The BWP BATS FAMILY should be proud of the integrity and respect of how the players, coaches, and parents represented there company. Class organization.

My mother just sent me the article about your factory that was in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Both of my sons play High School baseball and are members of The Orlando Scorpions Baseball Travel Baseball Team. As you know, baseball is a year around sport in Florida. The boys are in wood bat tournaments often and go through a lot of bats. In fact they are in Atlanta at a Wood Bat Tournament this week. Coincidentally, they both own your bats and love them. Since I will always consider myself a girl from a small steel town on The Monongahela River, we will continue to purchase your bats and support your company. Best of Luck!

Comment: Sooooo how is the weather?!?!?! I agree that the sponsor is not liable for the parents. At the same time, there is a proper respect for the R.O.O.T.S that the parents and coaches should teach these young men and women. ROOTS stands for Rules, Officials, Opponents, Team, and Self. There is definitely a respect for the game also. I get upset with officials and sometimes will argue a call. I am an adult however and have (and still do) learned how far I should go. Arguing is a part of baseball, but not in pre-teen age groups and definitely not by players until they are adults. In regards to the bats, I really liked them during game play. I fouled two off while the ball got in on my hands and one I fouled off down by the cupping, bat held up well and hit solid liners when I hit it on the barrel. Went 3-10 on the weekend with a triple. So not a bad weekend at all. I also got moved back into the cleanup spot so I am very happy about that. GO BASEBALL!!! Want to sponsor our adult team in WI? We will take what we can get!!!

Comment: WOW! First of all there would be millions of people not playing sports if it wasn't for sponcers.Without their money and time there wouldn't be sports.I'm sure your team has sponcers.BWP BATS has sponcered our team for five years without them and our other sponcers there would be no team.Plus they help our whole league out by discounting the bats to make it affordable for us to play.So their are about 240 of us very thankful to bwp bats!!!!They donate pink bats for breast cancer awareness weekend we have, which raises a bunch of money!By the way did your team lose? We've played down state college way before we don't any more because of the one way umping, plus not real friendly place to play!Be that as it may it is about the kids right! Thanks to the sponcers they get to play!!Plusthanks to the many coaches that donate their time so the kids can play!!!Go spend some time with your kid and enjoy the day don't be so negative!!!

Comment: I didn't have an experience with your bats, but I did have an experience with the parents of the young men on the baseball team that you sponsor. The parents of the BWP Bats team that played at State College on the weekend of June 25-27, 2010 were quite amusing--if you enjoy rude and obnoxious drunken behavior. During the entire game, the parents were drinking beer and yelling inappropriate comments to the parents and umpires during the game. I don't know anything about BWP Bats, but I do know a lot about business and the economy. And, I do know a lot about social networking. I also happen to know a great deal about teaching. The most meaningful lessons, are those "life lessons" which you carry with you forever. From this experience, I hope to teach my son and the players on his team a valuable lesson. The lesson of respect. We have all been on the side of the unfair call by an umpire, but yelling comments at them is not an acceptable way of showing you disagree with them. Particularly, when you are wearing a name of a company across your chest, since you have the duty to respect their name and respect the fact that they are graciously sponsoring your team. You must also think about the detrimental effect that negatively representing that company could have on their bottom line. A business that is trying to earn a profit should be careful to steer clear of anything that could decrease their net income. Since this experience today, I will tell every baseball team that I come in contact with at tournaments about the inferior quality of the BWP Bat team. I will also be sure to tweet and post this on my social networking pages. I don't know anything about your bats, but I do know that I now have a negative opinion of your business if that is the type of team you are willing to sponsor. If I owned BWP Bats, LLC, I would immediately contact the parents and players and tell them that this behavior is unacceptable and I would pull my sponsorship. Teach them the valuable life lesson of showing respect and being a person that shows character even in times when you don't agree. I would also suggest that you visit the following website for information that will help your coaches, players, and parents recognize that character counts. http://charactercounts.org/sixpillars.html)

Comment: First, to answer John from below, the cupping on the end of the bat is for better balance. Some people dont like the cup because they like their bat "end loaded." I like the cup because it puts more of the weight in the handle, thus making the bat feel lighter and more controllable. Now my comment. I just received my two BWP model 73 maples last night. The balance is excellent and they feel awesome. I guess my only concern is that one is the 34" that I ordered, but the other is only 33.5". Usually I would not be concerned at all, but this model takes away 1-2" as it is because of the flared knob. I will report more after I take a few cuts tomorrow night with them. I am constantly looking for a quality bat at a fair price, I will be honest with what I think of your product. X-bats and Sam Bats just seem to be too expensive. The best I have tried so far is Max Bats, but those are quite spendy as well, costing $89 for the flared knob model. While X-bat and Sam Bat are $120 and $140 respectively.

Comment: I'm sad to say that my 271 finally broke today on a ball off the end of the bat. It just cracked like ash. No explosion. The bat did not even split apart. I have to say that was a seriously tough bat. I was probably up to 2000 plus rips on it. Cages once a week sometimes twice and one game every weekend. I would take between 100 and 200 pitches in the cages and that does not include live bp. BWP is some insanely hard lumber. I can't say enough about the quality of lumber in these bats. If you are a maple hitter BWP delivers. My new birch bat will be here for my next scheduled game. I will be getting another BWP maple as a back up for that bat. For the price and quality of wood you can't beat BWP maple.

Comment: 1. Who does not check out their new bat when they get it? 2. If it was broken and you had never used it there would be no ball marks on the bat and they would replace it. 3. Even if there were ball marks on the bat, they would still replace it as long as there were no BAD hits or signs of abuse. Come on man, don't slander these guys! Just because you don't know how to swing a wood bat! Go back to playing wiffel ball.

Comment: Mr. Gregory and everyone at BWP, Thank you kindly for the great bats. I tried out the Model 110 today with an unfinished handle and galen barrel in prep for my season. The ball jumps off your maple better than any store-bought wood bat I have ever swung and the Model 110 is very durable.

Comment: Jason you re way off base, when you say ash is more forgiving than maple.Maple is the strongest most durable bat out there.I have maple bats I've been swinging for four years now. Can't get four games out of a ash bat.The swet spot is smaller on a ash bat.plusball doesn't jump off bat as good.Bottom line is that maple is best bat out there! That stuff you see and here about maple and the major leagues is a joke.Pros are alot bigger than your normal player, that isn't on roids! We hardly ever see a maple bat fly apart. If it wasn't for maple,we would still be using metal.Well hope i helped.BWP needs a bat forum to talk about this and help more leagues to switch to wood not 400.00 metal bats.

Comment: Wood bats break. I have a 271 in maple that has to have close to 1,000 rips on it. I got jammed off the neck, balls off the end of the barrel and she is still cranking them out. I have used it with baseballs and dimpled balls in the cages. This bat is hard as a rock. I have heard of early breakage with the pro lite line. That maybe be due to reducing the water content during the drying process to reduce the weight of the billets. If you don't know how to swing wood swing something else until you learn, buy a cheaper wood bat or get ash because it is more forgiving to mistakes then maple.

Comment: My brother and I went on a trip today to Brookville. Both of us could care less about baseball. On the way home we just happened to see the sign off Interstate 80 that said about tours of a bat factory. We decided that might be something worth seeing if the price was right. Again, not caring much about the sport, we went anyways. I must say, we were very impressed with the tour! Am glad to see that there is still a company out there that still cares about the customers and even tourists. They were very polite and took their time to explain every process to us. Would have liked to see the lathe running though (need to be there before 2PM though!). Didn't buy a bat, but know one thing for sure... We get back up that way, I am definitely stopping back for another tour! Thanks BWP! Keep up the good work and FREE TOURS! We appreciated it! Andy

Comment: Hi, I received my PM lite-243 34" bat last Thursday, and used it in a game that Sunday. I never hit any balls previous to this game with this specific bat. My 3rd at bat the bat snaps right along the barrel, with the grain (the barrel was split in half). The pitcher was throwing no harder than 70 mph (it's just a rec wood bat league). The ball made contact with the bat about 5" inches off the hands. My story sounds extremely similar to what Eric Meyers writes in the comment below mine. This should not be happening when the bat is literally brand new, and did not see any real time with baseballs. As a hard maple, I expected more life out of it, especially when the website keeps reassuring us of the excellent quaility of its bats. I heard about this company through a friend, who told me your bats were some of the best, but this is unacceptable. As a new customer, I do not know if I can trust the BWP brand because I can't trust the 'life' of its product. Regards, Bill Miller bill.miller2009@hotmail.com, (925)980-0097

Comment: Hello, A while ago I sent your company an email saying that I was playing on a wood bat league team and that I wanted to try different types of bats. BWP was gracious enough to send me a beautiful red oak baseball bat with my name engraved in it. I use it for maybe eight different plate appearances and the last time I hit a blooper into left center field. However when I hit the ball the bat just snapped. It didn't shatter of course, but the broke going with the grain of the wood and was completely unable to be used anymore. I was happy with the bat up until that point but I was very surprised that it broke. I had not yet hit a ball close to the hands and when I hit the ball about 5 inches above the hands it snapped. Let me know if you have any comments about this happening. Sincerely, Eric Meyers ericmeyers19@gmail.com 402.615.2456 and for any type of information brochures: 1441 B. st. apt 3 Lincoln NE 68502

I got the bat out of the closet recently and found the bat split on its own from the cup all the way down to the trademark. $70 and not one swing with it. :( I use the ash version of that bat all the time, but I am so not happy with this issue.

Comment: Picked up a 32" 271. This timber is solid as a rock. Very well balanced with a little weight in the barrel. Length to weight ratio was almost dead on 2.5 oz. Tons of hits in BP and she keeps cranking them out. I would only suggest not over looking the finer details as it takes away from this beautiful piece of timber. The company graphics looks like they are silk screened on to the bats. I took a couple off the neck smeared the graphic even more ink came off during cleaning and the graphic application was far from professional looking. The holes that were put in the handle to hang the bats to stain or paint were still visible. The cupping of the bat was also poor looking. I don't even believe it was done at MLB spec. Other than that this Bat is one of the best I have swung. This thing has taken a beating and I'm guessing it will keep going.

Comment: BWP Bats is a class operation! Their products are top-notch and I would encourage anyone to tour their home base of operations. Their employees are professional and any baseball fan would be crazy to leave the factory without making a purchase! Thanks for the tour and for providing a quality product!!!

Comment: I purchased 2 of the model 271 maple bats for my 15 year old son. He has tried alot of bats by different manufactures. He said many times since then that the BWP bats have the most pop, and also are the most balanced wood bats he has ever used. They also have a very solid sound. We will continue to purchase your products in the future. Thank You, Jeremy Heimbach

Comment: Your BWP baseball bats are absolutely the poorest quality baseball bat that I have ever purchased. Last year I ordered a custom bat from Baseball savings.com and the maple that I ordered actually dented. I sent the bat back and you sent me what you said was the pro model. I literally used the bat for three at bats and a few rounds of BP and it broke. The previous bat I had was a rawlings big stick and it lasted me over a year. I am very disappointed that because of my purchasing your product players that play for the teams I coach have purchased the bat with the same issues. I will never promote or purchase another BWP product in my life. I have a feeling this wont make your website.

Comment: Ordered a new BWP Red Oak over the summer. Used it once in pre game batting practice. Took it out of my bag to start the game and the barrel was cracking. Never buy another oak bat for as long as i'll play. jlorence14@hotmail.com

Comment: Good Evening, I just got finished watching your presentation on Pensylvania's PCN Channel. I noted and the commentators on last years Baseball games commented on excessive broken bats.I thought that bats were made of Ash wood. They mentioned that the bats were made of Maple, and the Major League was to do a study why excessive bat breakage in 2008.I didn't see your complete program, maybe you mentioned what wood your bats were made of.Do you have any reasons for the excessive breakage of bats? Thank You,Howard Kritzberger Sr,Levittown Pa.

Comment: I would highly recommend that you to put a library of bats showing custom orders, bats with flames, etc. It would even be better if you had were kids could build their own bat online so they could see what it would look like with the flames, colors and their name on it. Also if you had something where parents could download pictures for a card showing the bat, so they could give that to their child if they ordered the bat late ( as we did).

Comment: Curious as to who the "150 professional" ballplayers are that use BWP. Also, is there any way that you can show a close up of the bat handles on your website? I purchased a few bats and the handles aren't what I thought they were. BWP are good sticks!

Comment: I stopped into the factory july 9th to check the facility out. I was met with friendly people and those who know what their product stands for. The person who waited on me was Rich. He gave me the tour and even offered a refund if I wasn't satisfied with the tour, but I was even tho the tour is free LoL. They are professional and curtious. I even bought one of the Red Oak bats Model bwp 43 since I was curious after reading the info before I went to the factory. I only want to know is, you looking for a few more employees? LOL I look forward to trying the new bat out soon. I also plan on purchasing more BWP bats in the future as well as recomending them to fellow players. Thank You for all your help! Ry

Comment: The 4th of July weekend, my team competed in the Joel Stephens Memorial Baseball Tournament, in Mansfield,PA. I talked to your people about your bats, and liked your product. I went to my car to get my checkbook to buy a couple of your bats for my team. When I got back they had packed up and left. I,d still like to get a couple but they had a discount price. Wondering if we could get a discount. My e-mail is korman@epix.net, thank you, Kurt Foster
